Olive oil definitely works for snoring. In fact, it is one of the most effective natural remedies for snoring. And the best thing is, we all have olive oil in your kitchen lying around. Do you know why snoring normally occurs? Snoring occurs due to the partial obstruction of airflow through the airways. This partial obstruction occurs mainly due to the unfamiliar growth of tissue in the throat. By using olive oil, the throat tissue is moistened which further reduces friction. As a result, the airflow will get much smoother than before, which will reduce the snoring. Olive oil also helps to tighten the muscles below the palate. As a result, the muscles stay open which allows free air flow. Thus olive oil helps to keep the throat tissues moistened, which in turn leads to less snoring and better quality sleeping.
There are other ways olive oil helps to stop snoring. Olive oil helps when you are having heartburn. Heartburn is the result of acid reflux. Acid reflux is known to cause inflammation in the respiratory tract which results in soreness as well as swelling. This can lead to congestion which is a common reason for snoring.
Olive oil is rich in anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to soothe the inflammation, thus makes the tissues calm and relaxed. With olive oil, the swelling will soon get reduced, resulting in much better airflow through the throat.
Extra virgin olive oil works best for snoring. There is nothing special you need to do. Taking about 3 sips of extra virgin olive oil before you hit the bed will be enough to prevent snoring. If the raw taste of olive oil doesn’t encourage you, you can definitely mix an equal amount of honey with it to make the oil tastier. Honey is another great natural remedy for snoring.

My Favorite Way To Stop Snoring
Though olive oil is a great natural remedy for preventing snoring, it is not a quick one. With olive oil, it may take a considerable amount of time to see any positive result.
Personally, I am not that of a patient person. When I was a regular snorer, I always looked for a much quicker and efficient way to reduce snoring. So, when I came across anti-snoring devices, I definitely wanted to give them a shot.
